Level 1 Information

Before you start an application, you will need the following...

  • Student ID Number (Username) and Password used at your school to log onto the computer. If you do not remember your username and password, your counselor can contact the technical support person at your school or contact the Help Desk for a reset.

  • An active email account (student or parent). If you do not have one, you will find a link to create one on the bottom of the sign-in page for the Magnet Application.

  • Your school counselor's name.

Eligibility for Acceptance into a Level One Magnet Program

Pathway I

  • 2.5 GPA

  • Satisfactory progress towards graduation requirements, including but not limited to: behavior, attendance, and credits earned.

  • Successful completion of CAT Career Exploration strongly recommended.

*Students that qualify will be evaluated for appropriate placement into courses listed as preference.*

Pathway II

  • 2.0 GPA

  • Satisfactory progress towards graduation requirements, including but not limited to: behavior, attendance and credits earned.

  • Successful completion of CAT Career Exploration strongly recommended.

*Students that qualify will be evaluated for appropriate placement into course based on available seats.*

Pathway III

  • Successful completion of Career Exploration is recommended.

  • A conference with a CAT school counselor to evaluate GPA,  attendance, and credits may be required.

*Students interested in technical education who demonstrate aptitude but do not meet criteria for pathway I/II will be considered for provisional admission on a case by case basis. 

Additional Info

  • Should more students qualify that there are available seats in a specific course, a random lottery will select students.

  • The CAT North reserves the right to review any and all applications to determine any possible circumstances that might prevent placement that is detrimental to a student's health, safety, or success.

Level One Magnet Application Information

  1. Level One is available to students entering tenth and eleventh grades.

  2. Students will have the opportunity to choose up to four programs but should only choose up to four programs but should only chose the number of programs that they will be willing to attend.

  3. Refer to the chart below for program specific information. Note that students may attend two Level One programs are one semester each.
