Federal Financial Aid Program (FAFSA)
  • Why complete the FAFSA?

    • Determines whether a student qualifies for need-based federal financial aid​.

    • Necessary if student is attending an in-state school and planning on applying for financial aid through the state of Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).

    • Required by colleges to determine which students qualify for their own financial aid packages and scholarships.

  • Here's what you need to do.

    • START NOW. Create an FSA ID username and password at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm. . If you are a dependent student, your parent will need to also create an FSA ID.

    • Apply after October 1st online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or obtain a copy of the application at your public library.

    • Deadline for completing the application is March 1st!

  • Here's what you will need.

    • FSA ID​

    • Social Security Number

    • Alien Registration Number (if not a US-born citizen)

    • Tax Returns (for both yourself and your parent)

Maryland Financial Aid Program (MSFAA)
This program offers grants and scholarship based on need, career, or unique population.  Students must be attending in-state institutions unless otherwise noted.  Find out more here
