Chef Ambassador’s Facilitate “Teaching With The CIA” at the Center of Applied Technology North on May 13, 2014

 

A unique opportunity was afforded the Culinary Arts/Baking & Pastry that attend CAT North and CAT South on Tuesday, May 13, as part of “Teaching with the CIA” day. Close to 60 Anne Arundel County Public School high school students interested in the countless and diverse professions within the food world watch 3 CIA Chef Ambassadors describe the ingredients and participate in demonstrations of cooking methods as part of the “Out Of Africa” program focus.

 Mr. Bruce Davis, Culinary Arts instructor at CATN and CIA Alumni ‘72, initiated CIA involvement on a yearly basis many years ago and has worked to include Anne Arundel County Public School students and their Career and Technology Education instructors Pete Akerboom, Baking & Pastry – CATN, and Pam Klink, Culinary – CATS in this very special day.

As you can tell by the smiles on their faces, the students will remember “CIA Day” for many days to come!
