Printing Technology

This is a Print Education Certified Program.

In this program, students will be instructed in all aspects of the printing process, including digital printing, offset lithography, binding and finishing, and production planning. Equipment includes: guillotine cutter, folder, stitcher, paper drill, gluer/binder, die cutter, screen printer, computer to plate system, digital printing system, booklet maker, and 2-color offset presses.  Students will develop an understanding of inventory and cost control, electronic prepress, digital file preparation, and employment responsibility.  Students will use state-of-the art iMac computers and Adobe Creative Suite software to layout and manage digital files for print production. Students will be challenged to produce work for real customers that will meet industry standards for quality and timely delivery.

Career opportunities exist in printing production as a pressman or bindery operator, prepress technician, production planning, purchasing and customer service.
