Qualify to sit for the Certified Pharmacy Technician Exam (CPhT)
Qualify to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Exam (CCMA)
Prerequisites: Biology, 11th grade entry
The Academy of Health Professions is designed for students interested in health related professions. The students will learn to be multi-skilled healthcare providers providing both personal care skills and administrative and clinical office skills. Primary areas of study include foundations of medicine, health sciences, structure and function of the human body and medical terminology. Students will receive hands on experiences in a variety of clinical health care settings including, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities, doctors’ offices, and hospitals.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES in the healthcare field include certified nursing assistant, geriatric nursing assistant, medical assistant, registered nurse, physician, pharmacy technician, and radiology technician.
